Andean Condor portrait study

Practicing a quick painting study of one of my favorite and most dear animals, the Andean Condor -Vultur gryphus.

Andean Condors are being threatened more and more because of human actions, mainly habitat loss and invasion, food (carrion) poisoning, and others...If nothing is done they will be in serious danger of extinction, specially because they only reach sexual maturity around 5 or 6 years old and reproduce slowly (a chick per 1 or 2 years).

Be kind and respectful to vultures, they are not "dirty and ugly or bad omens" but yes beautiful diverse birds and essencial to Nature (contrary to humans..)
